What's new and why
Your redesigned Saturday Times has 6 new sections covering everything you need to get the most from your Saturday. In this section we take you through the changes and there is an opportunity to watch how the paper gets put together.
Sport
All your Saturday sport now has its own home.
We are launching a separate Sport section to tee up the big matches of the weekend and make the most of The Times's exceptional roster of sports writers: Michael Atherton on cricket, Matt Dickinson and Gary Lineker on football, David Hands on rugby, Neil Harman on tennis, Ed Gorman on Formula One, Giles Smith on watching it all on TV and, of course, Simon Barnes.
The Review
For everything worth thinking about in the world of culture and the arts.
The Saturday Review is a new broadsheet section covering arts, books and ideas with expanded coverage of culture, as well as more space for reviews of fiction and non-fiction books. Kate Muir will write a column on life and art, Erica Wagner, the literary editor, will write on books and publishing, Caitlin Moran will muse on TV and Daniel Finkelstein will, on a weekly basis, demonstrate that it is possible to be a high-minded intellectual and have a sense of humour.
The Magazine
A dash of glamour, for you and your home.
The Magazine has been revamped. There is a new section called Radar, which scans for the trends, fashions, ideas and people of the moment. It still has Robert Crampton's Beta Male column, Giles Coren's restaurant reviews and Lisa Armstrong on fashion, but we hope you'll find even more to enjoy in the Style pages and a new lustre to the features that run through the magazine.
The Weekend
The new section for the way you live, or would like to live, your life.
At the heart of the new Saturday paper is Weekend. This section will be a weekly reminder that life is for living: it will not only include Body&Soul and Travel, but there will be more pages for things to do in the home, the garden and the great outdoors. We've kept your favourite features and columnists, such as Jane MacQuitty on wine and Thomasina Miers on food, but also brought in new writers to cover everything from window boxes to fly fishing to the country's best pubs.
Playlist
The new pocket-sized guide to everything worth going out, or staying in for.
Playlist is our new, handy guide to TV and radio listings - and much, much more. Our critics list the best films, music, comedy, theatre, opera, dance and events for kids. It will tell you what's on and where. It will tell you what's unmissable and, frankly, what's missable. It will plug you in to a whole new range of entertainment in the form of games and gadgets. It comes in a new booklet form, which means you should find it easier to put in your back pocket, in your handbag or, for that matter, keep on the side of the sofa.
